Radix Big Tent has appointed Labour MP Rachel Blake as its newest board member alongside former chair of the government’s High Streets Task Force Mark Robinson as chair of fellows.
Blake is joining the think tank with a background in the Treasury and land planning before taking up her role as MP for the cities of London and Westminster. She is also the vice-chair of the Labour Housing Group and previously served on the Treasury Select Committee.
Alongside his previous role on the High Streets Task Force, Robinson worked in the real estate sector for over 30 years and worked closely with national and local government.
In the role, he will launch a new commission, which will look at the role of healthcare in reviving town centres and promoting regeneration.
Also joining Radix Big Tent as a fellow is Andrew Taylor, planning director of Vistry Housing Group and member of the Housing Commission, as well as Stephen Gosling, a board member of Unlock Democracy.
The new commission expects to launch later in May.
Ben Rich, chief executive of Radix Big Tent, said: “Rachel’s campaign priorities line up perfectly with our programmes across resilient democracy, the investment system, housing and health, so we felt she was a natural fit and couldn’t be happier she’s committed part of her busy schedule to supporting us.
“Mark’s appointment as chair of fellows comes at a time when our Health on the High Street Commission gets ready to launch and we look forward to making a strong start with Mark at the helm of our distinguished fellows.
“Andrew and Stephen also boast a wealth of experience across the real estate and democracy sectors and complete an excellent set of appointments that will allow Radix Big Tent to push for cross-sectoral, industry-supported positive policy change.”
