New Capital Consensus
Britain’s investment system is amongst the most efficient in the world at moving money from A to B, but it remains fragmented, short-termist and ill-directed, so that it does not support UK growth or innovation as well as it could, nor produce the best individual and collective returns for savers.
New Capital Consensus is a coalition of non-commercial, apolitical organisations, led by Radix Big Tent, that have come together to explore how the current UK investment system contributes to the country’s current problems of low productivity, inequality and low levels of investment.
Its objective is to release more capital for investment. Previous attempts to achieve this have often failed or had unintended consequences because of the complex nature of the investment system. NCC understands that only a systemic approach to reform based on understanding the operation of the whole investment system will deliver the lasting and impactful change we all need.
