#PoliticsNotForSale – Tell your MP to support capping political donations at £100K
Huge uncapped political donations and massive campaign spending means the UK parliament is currently for sale to the highest bidder.
Billionaires are buying their way to political power and that must stop.
Politics should work for everyone — not just those with money. But the rules currently allow individuals with huge sums of money to shape political campaigns and ‘buy’ the policies that suit them. That creates a simple problem: when money dominates politics, ordinary people lose influence.
On the 14th July, the Representation of the People Bill is returning to parliament with an amendment introduced by Stella Creasy MP to cap donations at £100,000 - please tell your MP to support it.
If politics is going to work for everyone, we need rules that prevent big money dominating it.
